Bombed PS?

I feel like I totally bombed PS (Form C_). I usually run the show for that section but my form had alot of experimenal crap. It seemed like there was too much to read and I thought I'd try to answer questions without reading a whole lot (Somewhat like Shrike's method). Bad idea! Alot of the questions were theorectial ones about the experiment itself! Needless to say, I felt like I guessed a ton because I fell behind on time as well. Rushing + Not reading passages = Bad PS Score. During the exam I got depressed and thought of voiding. I should have stuck with it but the emotions got to me. Anyhow, I put together the effort to answer the questions I could do with what I knew. I think I got an 8 when usually I get 12s, 13s, even 14s. There is NO WAY I got something close to that. I know I got tons of the qustions wrong. I'm freakin out huge right now. Anyone else?

I did well on PS on all the practice tests, but walked out of the actual MCAT feeling like an chemistry/physics idiot. I'm sure the scale will be generous, but I always seem to do better on exams in which they actually test the material that I studied.

What exams did yall have? C_? Did that test have the hardest PS?

Hey guys,
I know this is easier said than done, but do try not to stress it that much...I can tell you from experience that it is not worth your time or anxiety.

I took april and I swore I had bombed the exam...I mean totally blown it. The last five minutes I contemplated voiding the exam. Twice. Thank God I didn't. I ended up with a 13 in PS (which I felt was the worst PS for me ever) and ended up extremely well overall. Moral of the story....your gut instincts can really lead you astray. I spent the first two weeks after the exam stressing what I would get. Then I decided to relax and forget about it. Just relax guys, I'm sure many of you did much better than you feel you did.

I agree with Hurricane. I went through the same thing.

This test is very stressful. Try to relax the best you can, I am sure you did better than you thought you did.

I had form EJ. You cant really say or gauge which test had the hardest PS as it is relative to who is taking it, what you know etc. Something might be hard for someone else when it might be easy for me because of many factors and vice versa.....Best of luck though!🙂

right, because the D forms had the balloon passage which looked like a high school chemistry experiment. no fancy calculations just theory type questions and many people had difficulty with this passage.

Exactly. I had BJ and thought PS was a freak show. Doesn't help that I suck at physics and physical chem, however! People who are strong in those subjects have said our form had an easy PS section. 🙁

That said, most people have said the BS was brutal, while I thought it was cake. But almost every question was material I am very comfortable with.

Ugh, this thread just reminded me about the anti-reflective coating passage on form CT. That was some crazy stuff. I completely read one of the equations wrong and thus was getting answers halfway between answer choices until 6 minutes later, when I noticed what I was doing. So much time wasted. *sigh*

i had form AQ... seeminly a form that NOBODY at this forum has had. PS was not that bad.... i knew my acids/bases. verbal was okay... 6 doable passables and then 3 hard ones. BS raped me in the ass. didnt even require outside knowledge. didn't even have to read anything for BS. all the answers were in the passages, but hey, i ran out of time.

i am expecting a 10-11 PS, 9-10V, and 8 BS. hopefully, i can get a 29-30.
