I am a 2nd year D.O. student who is ecstatic with almost being done with the didactic portion of medical school. I am scheduled to take the COMLEX and USMLE on June 15, and 16, and then will start my first rotation (Family Medicine) on June 21.
I want to be well-prepared for my rotations, and would like some advice on what I can do in the less than 2 months that I have to prepare. To start with, I'd like a book list. Is the First Aid series what I want to use for SHELF exams? Also, what other books did you have that were useful during your clinical rotations?
In terms of clinical skills, it's been a while since I've read Bates. Would it be worthwhile to go through it a second time? I'm pretty weak on a musculoskeletal exam, so should I spend the time reviewing this instead of studying for boards? I'd like to know your opinion.
