Book Recs. for AP Calc AB & BC

I've lurked here 3 days and already think you have too many books.

I used Princeton Review, though.

? Okay...uhm. Thanks.

I'm also wondering what the best books to prep for AP Calc AB are. :'(

Just study the book you have for your AP course...it should be ample.

I bought the Princeton Review. Looks like it will do the job. 👍

I still dont understand why you need a prep book for an AP course since the book you use for the course will have all the info...it's not like a prep for MCAT/DAT/OAT where there are multiple subjects. Just study the course Jef.

I thought you did not do well on Algebra I. And now you are taking Calculus BC?
😕

It was II. And I've reviewed all of it this summer. I'm ready to roll 😎

I hate myself for this I really do... but I kinda liked the PR AP prep book I got for Biology, it simplified and condensed everything really neatly.

This is not to say that I would condone purchasing 5 different review books on the same subject, they all basically say the same thing.

Bio is also completely different than calc. I can understand using a bio book since it probably does condense stuff..but for calc...and 5 of them?

I'm too sleepy to come up with a witty retort.

How's life?

I'm using Cliffs AP for Bio.

Dude Jeff. You took Algebra I and II in high school. Have you taken Trigonometry before taking calculus?

My friend who took AP Calc told me not to bother with trig. Anything I need to know trig-wise should be easy to find right off Google.

If you are planning to take an algebra based physics course, trigonometry is very important.

I used Princeton Review and a lot of collegeboard material for my 5.

What kind of collegeboard material did you use for calc?

I just have a quick trig reference card to refer to when I need it.

Yeah, I even have a little section in my calc text that is devoted to trig. It's not that hard...I don't need a whole class to teach me that stuff.

For my 5 in AB, I just went over problems we did in class from the book and we did all the released multiple choice and the free response from 1988 (I think it was) in class.
