Hi guys
I am premed, but every day, I realize more and more that maybe medicine is not for me. I am not social or outgoing. I dont like dealing with people, and I dont like excitement. but i like science. so i am thinking of doing pharmacy.
the thing that makes medicine so attractive is the security, I would be guaranteed a job as soon as I graduate. but then again, it doesnt fit my personality. and it's not liek i'm 22, I'm 27 and i dont want to be in school until 36.
I was thinking of optometry, but my research indicates that it is a declining profession and very hard to find a niche. insurance payments are low, people argue about $10 copays, walmart is taking over, people buy their glasses online for $6, oversupply, etc.

does pharmacy have the same problem? meaning a concern for less demand, oversupply, etc? I have heard there is a concern that the laws may change and pharamcists may no longer be required to be present at a pharmacy. is this true?

finally, is there a booklet that shows the pre-reqs for every pharmacy school? Or I have to go to every school's website, one by one?

From your post, it seems pretty clear that maybe pharmacy is not the perfect fit either. You will be dealing with people all day long, non-stop. And, a key attribute of being successful as a pharmacist is to be "charismatic" and approachable by other people.

Your research will also indicate the same thing for pharmacy. Yes - pharmacy seems to have the same problem.

Pre-reqs are different for every school. Check out this website, this breaks down all the pre-reqs for every school.
