Hi all,

anyone can suggest what books/titles I should buy for FM residency. I am beginning PGY 1 this year. Also.. can you suggest what journals or magazines I should subscribe to? Thanks!!

In my program, 'Essentials of family medicine' by Sloan is a Must read.
Also Ferri's 'Care of medical patients' is good for inpatient setting.
I don't know if there is any good book for ambulatory medicine.

Now a days I don't know if theres anything you can't find on the internet.

UpToDate and AAFP online can get you most of what you need.

Words cannot express how much I despise that book. I read the whole thing front to cover. In my opinion it is a disservice to family medicine. Its attempt to be "evidence-based" is laughable at best.

If anyone sends me their address and covers shipping costs, I'll be happy to mail it to them. Otherwise it's going in the fire.

I know that. That's too bad i have to buy that 40$ book for program requirement. Anyway, I don't have to spend a dime. I used my CME money.
