For those from out-of-town who did Boston programs (BID/MGH), where did you stay? (ie, if you don't have friends/relatives in the area?), and how much was the hotel?

Need advice on how to get around besides driving from hotel to interview, etc if I'm unfamiliar w/ the area and parking, etc is going to be hectic... (taxis, subway, bus?)

I stayed at YWCA. 58$ for the night. Bathroom not included. Survived 🙂

You may use subway - 1.25$ for the ride. From YWCA to MGH - 3 or 4 stops on the red line.
Before arriving, read carefully all the invitation e-mails. They include hotels and subway directions.

Thanks for the replies, I used priceline, tried to get a hotel in the Cambridge area near MIT, but got one for $47 + tax/night (DoubleTree guest suite, at 400 Soldier Fields Rd) but was on the other side of the river near Harvard U., but they do have free shuttle to the red line..., however parking still $20/day (bummer) at hotel... If anyone familiar w/ this area of Boston knows where Parking can be cheaper, let me know.

for future reference... holiday inn express at 69 boston avenue (or something like that) offers hotel for $80/night to anyone interviewing at BU. however, i stayed with them while i interviewed at bid as well. it's a nice place, and though it is out of the way, it is close to the T. hope this helps.
