Boston is rejecting community college transfer students!?

how many people (transfer students from community college) are here in this forum that have already recieved an email from boston telling them that they need to retake the classes they took at community college or get a masters in medical sciences to be considered for fall 07 DMD admissions?

please indicate your stats too if possible (gpa, graduation yr, state in which you attend community college, dat scores, major, and indicate whether you are a regular student, international F1,...)

Well, how about an applicant who hold a BS degree? Because I took all my pre-req courses at cc. and transfer to 4 year college. In fact, I did email them before about the cc work, they told me they prefer everything are taken in 4 year colleges including the courseworks!😳

i graduated and have degree from uc school, but didn't major in
science so i took all my pre-reqs at local cc.
i applied to 14 schools but planning to withdraw loma linda.
should I pay the secondary fee for BU??? do you think I have
a shot? seems like they don't want any of pre-reqs to be done
at cc.

my stats are overall all 3.6, science 3.9

This is news to me.

I had CC courses (general sciences only), took all upper courses at a 4 yrs institution, and still got into many schools, not just BU. Can you be more specific which courses the school was referring to? - otherwise, BU might not be considering CC course any longer as of the current application cycle.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, and certainly don't judge a school based on what you heard from other people. The only way to find out is to attend the school, and then make your own personal assessment - rather than hearing things through the grapevine.

Ok. I stopped by the admission's office this morning, and the pre-doc admission contact lady (Ms. Liane Weber) is not in her office today. However, I enquired about the CC courses with the secretary, and she said that the school still accepts some of them, but majority of courses should be taken at a 4yrs institution. She added, the full details of required courses are available through Liane.

Call the school tomorrow, and see if you can get Liane to answer this question over the phone.
