...it probably pisses off the ones who wanted him pissed off by calling him a douche more then it pisses him off.
Probably not.... I know I wouldn't be pissed off if someone ran around the hospital proud to be called deuche or DBag or anything else. Their pride and joy in accepting this and flaunting it does nothing to me

...My only point is, its probably his way of showing he doesn't care what people think of him...
Yes, got that point clearly the first time. That's great, someone cares so little about what his/her colleagues think about or call them.... so, they wear a name like deuche as some sort of badge of honor. Excellent.... I just don't think that level, of whatever someone wants to call it, represents characteristics I would want. I am certain my friends and family would not share in such pride and ?stoicism to wrap myself in insult.... But, again, the individual is above it all and wears the name deuche with some sort of pride.

Reality check; let's say this individual, so above such petty thing, rolls into the mud cause he feels no dirt. I would not hire a physician (or anyone else) that came for an interview with such pride and when discussing his residency informed me he was proud to be called deuche. I would be even less likely to hire someone that was proud to be called a derogatory name created by corrupting their native ethnic family name....

But, that's just me.

Yeh, I was amazed at someone willingly accepting such a derogatory nickname.... I mean, come 5-7 years later, he can fondly look back at how people always thought of him when passing the vinegrette or something! Family must be so proud how he wears the name:scared:

I think you guys are being too stuck up about this. Two buddies can't call eachother names for fun? The guy is a stud. Mayo medschool, Harvard catalyst, tons of first author papers and he is a cardiothoracic surgeon now. He can call himself Bardouche if he wants.

Nice try, Bardouche.

is this show back? is this why its bumped up?
No, it was just someone bumping a really old thread because they disagreed with something someone said 8 months ago.
