Hi there, been a lurker for quite some time of SDN learning from the massive amoutns of info available. A question though. I recently got a letter from BU informing me that I am on the alternate list. I was wondering if anyone knew what that really meant, like what are my chances or no chance at all? I searched and found that BU had a waitlist(rejection) and an accepted list, but not much info on the alternate list. Any info you guys could provide would be much appreicated

Well, obviously it's better to be on your list than the rejected list, but it might take a while before you hear anything. I know they were still interviewing in March, so just sit tight and hope for the best. A lot of people apply there and it might take a while for the dust to settle. You might e-mail them, or even better, send them a note telling them that you really want to go there. It really can help to seperate you from the rest of the herd.

i inteviewed 2nd week of january. they haven't made a decision on me yet...i keep calling my interviewer..he says..no decision is GOOD.

but how GOOD is it?..is it better/worse than being on the BU alternate list?

When was the waitlist notification letter dated and when did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?

I actually heard that the BU class is now full and there would not be any further interview dates, maybe thats old news, dunno.

I interviewed on 2/25 and the letter I got was dated 3/29. The bold type was Alternate List, so does alternate list = waitlist? If it does, that sucks. Yea, from what I read on the other SDN threads, BU sent out an email saying that April and MAy interviews were for the alternate list, and March interviews were still for official acceptance. So for me right now, I'm just wondering what the heck alternate list means, like if i have a chance or no chance at all

ya i did...had it 2 weeks ago..they said the decision is made..and in the mail, when called last monday. they said it should be there no later than next week..so i'm waiting..and hoping..
