Same. I am planning to apply soon. What are your stats like?

Does anyone know if they’ve started reviewing submitted applications?

Oh okay! I'm curious if the process is different to get admitted to the master of science program if you are already accepted to the MPH program. I'm just trying to gauge when I should start worrying that I was not accepted to the program. Do you have any thoughts on that? Amazing stats by the way!

Because I spoked directly to the director and she knew my situation i kind of had a fast decision. But i think anywhere 4-6 weeks after turning it in till mid june is where you should be getting a response back. 🙂 Thanks! they are okay.

Hey Everyone! I'm a current OHS student. Let me know if you have any specific questions! I would be happy to answer them 🙂
hey, did you apply to dental schools before entering the ohs program? if yes, did you hear back from any of yet? Especially BU? and how is the program like? will you be repeating those classes you took in ohs in bu?

I applied for the first time in June last year before entering OHS. I heard back from a couple of schools, including BU. I am currently planning on attending BU next year for dental school, so I will not have to repeat any of the dental school classes I took last semester and that I'm taking this semester. The program is great! You take some of your classes with the dental school (Physiology & Biochem during the 1st semester, Pathology and/or Microbio during the 2nd semester plus other relevant grad school classes, along with writing a capstone or thesis). I think the program really helps prepare you for graduate level classes and to get acclimated to the difficulty of dental school. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to message me! 🙂

I sent in my application on Jan 3rd, and still haven't heard back.... I am starting to get worried.

Hey everyone, don't worry if you have applied and not heard back yet. If you have applied at this point, remember that you are applying early (some dental schools are still conducting interviews so some people may be waiting to apply to OHS). You will most likely hear back in March or April!

Hello,

I was wondering if I can have slides from your fall classes of the MS in oral health sciences?

Are you accepted into the program as well?
I haven't yet heard back, but I would like an overview of everything. I also wanted to know the exact number of students who matriculate from OHS to BU dental in only a year, not two.

From the most recent webinar, I got the range of the number of students who came into the OHS program this past fall of 2017 going straight to BU dental for fall 2018: there will be about 10-15 people out of 40 total applicants. There isn't an exact number just because the dental admission cycle hasn't fully ended yet.

I believe they have webinar sessions. The accepted students have one starting on April, might be a good question to ask them. I did a few research about it and they were a couple of them who went to BU dental, but I don't know the exact number.
I attended one of the info webinars last semester and Dr. Davies said about 20 OHS students get into BU DMD program. Will you be attending the program this Fall? 🙂

Yes, how long ago did you guys apply? I applied about 3 weeks ago, & I haven’t heard anything.

I applied before Christmas lol and the app was complete in the beginning of January.. I think it probably is still early. My GPA is quite low but I got a 22AA on the DAT, not sure what stats you're looking for

DANG! But great DAT! That's why I applied in the first week of January so you have a couple of weeks on me lol

Did they only send you an email with acceptance? Or did they also update your account info?
So on my BU GMS portal, it still says my app is complete... so I guess no change there.

Hi!
I got an e-mail today from the director congratulating me about my acceptance, but I'm still waiting on my official acceptance email. My BU App still hasn't been updated either.

I submitted my application on 2/2 just to give you an idea, and I only had 2 of my 3 LORs submitted.

Hmm. I might give them a call to see an update on my application! It's been about 8 weeks for me

Put on "hold" not quite sure why as I graduated last year. Must be because of the current dental school cycle? And my stats aren't terrible either at a 3.2 GPA and 19 AA on the DAT

I was also put on hold with similar stats and was also confused. They didn’t share why with you either right?

Yeah! I emailed them back to state my interest in the program as stated in the email, but I guess all we can do now is wait

Hey everyone,
I cannot share any slides over SDN, but if you have specific questions about classes or any other concerns, feel free to send a message to my inbox.

Cost of Attendance & Financial Info can be found on the website (on the BU OHS website > Admissions > Tuition, Fees, & Financial Aid)

Just attended the most recent webinar session. Dr. Davies says that for people who are put on hold means that they have what it takes but not quite yet, so they want to look at other applications to see if others that are more fit. Also, they are 24 accepted students right now and the cap will be 40. In addition, they get about ~200 applicants. I hope this help. She says to email her if you have anymore questions with the application/program.
