Research Position open at the Boston University Medical School, JP VA Medical Campus, and VA-BU-SLI Brain Bank

Research Description:
We are currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr. Ann McKee on the molecular biology of trauma-induced neurodegenerative disease. The lab is focused on characterizing and elucidating the mechanisms of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). The project would involve the study of the tauopathy and abnormal TDP-43 in CTE using protein biochemistry, genetics, and RNA analysis on post-mortem human tissue, animal models, and tissue culture.

Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent from an accredited institution with a background in molecular biology or related field.

Primary responsibilities:
· Research design and technical assistance to investigators
· Develop & conduct high quality substantive & methodological research
· Publish peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and/or books
· Teach techniques to others including technicians and students

Is this OP the real BU Pathology? This poster has a slightly different name, and only joined the forum yesterday...

I think this job could be appropriate for some IMGs, or funded MD/PhDs. For many American grads with student loans to pay off, the idea of taking a pay cut from a resident salary to do a post doc is so unrealistic and frankly offensive, it might be better to leave the country.
 
It's clearly a troll pretending to be Dr. Remick, lampooning his tendency to post job opportunities that are either out of reach of most new pathologists, like lab director positions, or plainly not-very-good jobs, like academic instructor appointments and the like.
