Hey med students,

I was just wondering what current BU med students think about their school. The students at the second look weekend were very positive about the school, but it really felt like they were trying hard to sell the place. I've heard the good, and I'm excited about it, but what are some negatives of the place? Finally, could you guys discuss your reasoning behind choosing BU?

Why are you guys asking now? It's way past May 15. Are you waitlisted? Batman123 I don't believe you are since you were at the open house. BTW I was there too. But, I didn't get the say impression as you about the pannelists. I don't want to answer to your question though. It seems like you are asking current students.

i don't know about the others, but my waitlist position at bu just came through late friday, and i had to make a decision by this morning, since we can't hold 2 admissions after may 15. of course, we've heard great things about each school during our interviews, but it helps to get some unslanted inside information from current students, especially in my case, where the schools are in many ways so similar. lacking much feedback, i chose tufts over bu for relatively minor reasons.

I started this post a while ago, but now it is quite relevant, as I've been pulled of the waitlist at the University of Colorado, and now I have two weeks to make a choice between there and BU. Apart from visiting both places (it would be a third time for BU), I was looking for some unbiased info on the schools to help me make my decision.

Here is a link that can greatly help. It contains a list of current medical students at BU who have volunteered to answer questions from incoming student. I can't say their answer will be unbiased. But I believe they have promised to be honest.
Sorry Dave, you chose tufts over. Personally, I don't know how anyone does that. But, hey, you'll just be down the street from BU 🙄

although i've already made my decision, i'd like to hear why "hardly anyone does that," besides the fact that you and your colleagues are at bu. i would almost expect to hear the same response from tufts students, since no one there chose bu over tufts. so, is it school pride, or do you know some tufts students who are bu-wannabe's? what do you like about bu, personally? and, what have you heard that might be negative about tufts?
