does anyone have any advice as to what we can do after we interview to show a school that we really, really like their school and want to get in? is it a good idea to update them on things like extracurriculars and then reiterate the fact that you really enjoyed your visit/interview and that the school is a top choice of yours?

Sending a sincere thank you note after an interview is usually sufficient...that one note stands the highest chance of getting read by someone. If you wanted to send a sort of "update" you're probably only going to want to do it once, maybe some time after you complete the fall semester. do it in writing so it's part of your file...and don't bug people by phone.

good luck.

A couple of years ago, the conventional wisdom was to go out of your way to find little excuses to call schools up. i.e. to show your interest in them.

That apparently went a little too far, as a number of schools now explicitly say "Don't call us at all" (like NYU).
