I was taking a look at one the questions in Section 7 (Phase & Phase Changes) for BR Chem. The question on page 71 "In what phase or phases does the material exist at point "e" on the graph below? has been irking me for a while. I even consulted a physical chemistry book and i still believe the answer they chose was wrong. If anyone else has noticed this discrepancy, please let me know.

If you leave a cup of water on a table for a few days and mark the line where the water originally was highest, you'll notice when you returned that the water level dropped some. That's because some of that water escaped as vapor. All liquids and solids have the tendency to evaporate. However, it all depends on their intermolecular forces. Substances with weaker forces will be extremely volatile and turn entirely into gaseous form sooner than others.

Both answers are technically right - but choice D is more inclusive.
You're about 6 pages away from the section on Vapor Pressure. That might clarify some things.
