Just finished BR test1 and got a 27. Been doing pretty bad w other tests, so just wanted to know what everyone is getting on these. Want to know if this increase is for real! LOL!!! I just want to keep things real, and need to gauge where I stand w the AAMC's

Really? no one? come on people I know you are out there, and there are plenty of people with the same question....

Thanks!

btw, I'm taking about their cbt, not the class material...i read the other BR thread.

If you're wondering how the CBT's compare, then take a few of them and take one of the early AAMC's as a diagnostic.

AAMC exams 7-11 should be saved for closer to the exam as they're the exams that most closely resemble the current aamc. So why not take 3 or 4 or 5 as a diagnostic to see how the scores compare for you?

TBR-1 was their easiest FL. Some of the later tests were a bit insane.

Their FL's are okay, but don't take your score too seriously. Just use them to target your weaknesses.

I agree with this. Those tests are perfect for identifying weaknesses and exposing you to very conceptual passages under timed conditions, but the scales are ridiculous.

Scales are ridiculous? What do you mean? Do you think they are too tough or too generous? 😕

I think he means you can get more wrong (vs AAMC) and still get a substantial score, but because there seems to be more hard questions, it evens out the generous curve.

I don't mean generous or difficult. I mean inaccurate. This is my personal opinion. My scores on tbr ranged from 27 (TBR 5) to 34. The scaling is strange and not indicative of what you can expect. It is, however, very good for identifying weaknesses because of the range of topics tested and similarity to many hard passages on recent mcats.

Sounds good! Just finished reviewing BR1 and am getting a little better at recognizing the wrong answers. But still making a ton of mistakes. I broke it down to:
Failed to see the relationship
Did not know/forgot
thought process (need more focus)
Missed important word
Mistake due to chart/table
Complex calc
simple calc
Dumb

I had a lot of failed to see relationship btw passage/question/answer

This seems to help me figure out what aspect of the test taking i need to pay closer attention to. I went over every single question wrong and right, and cleared any doubts/mistakes before going on to the next. I feel it was a really productive day.
So tomorrow I will be taking AAMC4, had taken AAMC last month and only got a 22 p8 v6 b8(90% all dumb mistakes and zero focus!)

two more weeks....😛
