I'm trying to decide if I should spend time doing completing the Berkeley Review verbal passages. The level of difficulty seems OK for the actual passage, but the Qs don't seem to be very similar for actual MCAT.

My exam is September 13th and so I have some time. I know the EK verbal 101 is considered to be one of the best resources for verbal, outside of official MCAT stuff....so I am planning on doing the EK passages but I could use extra practice. My main issue is with time, I need cut back on the time I spend on each passage.

Anyhow, should I spend time working on the BR verbal passages???😕

do a search on SDN for BR verbal, I did every BR book except for the verbal ones (the big bio one sucked pretty bad also). I think the BR Chem/Physics book are their flagship by far.

It depends on the version of the verbal book you have. The older book is probably not worth it except for maybe the last three passage sets. If it's the new verbal book (released in Feb 2008 and really thick), I have gotten pretty good feedback about that book and the passages/questions in it.

I'm doing the Berkeley Review verbal right now. I really don't know what to make of it. Some of the questions are long and a few of the answer choices are just as long. I would like to hear any feedback from people that have used this book (Berkeley Review Verbal) and taken the MCAT. I'm curious to know how people fared using this book. I am using it because I exhausted all the EK 101 Passages. Also, to the Berkeley Review Tech guy, are the Verbal questions supposed to be harder than the real deal? Or are they trying to simulate what we are more likely to see on the MCAT? I'm also taking the MCAT on the 12th of September.

Oh and I forgot to mention I have the new thick version of the verbal book, or at least I think I do. It's bloody thick.

It's okay, but I would only rely on AAMC and EK verbal 101.

Thanks for the post. Unfortunately I have used up all the EK 101, and have done all but one of the practice tests on AAMC. I'm thinking about redoing those AAMC verbal tests and BR. Won't hurt.

By rely, I meant on the score being reflective of what you can expect on the real MCAT.
