I know the medulla is one..but achiever says the pons is another one...they both are? They share control of breathing or is one more important than the other?

what if theyre both choices on the real DAT..... 😱

I believe that both of them control it.
And I doubt that both will be choices.

That's like saying which one phagocytes and you get choices of macrophage and neutrophils. Both can phagocyte antigens so I know what u r worrying about but it's highly unlikely 🙂

the medulla controls the rhythem of breathing and the pons "cleans up" the rhythem to control the exact muscles that control chest expansion etc...

In general terms, vital functions such as breathing are controlled by the brain stem. Medulla and Pons are both components of the brain stem. Hence, they're both involved in controlling vital functions such as breathing!
