Hey. I am interviewing for the UF COP in Orlando and I just have a question about financial aid. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if I would still recieve the Bright Futures Scholarship for any amount of time during pharmacy school. I will have completed only 2 years of college by the time I (hopefully) enter pharmacy school. I know the scholarship is meant for 4 years, but given that the tuition for pharmacy school is much, much higher than undergraduate tuition at most Florida public universities, I'm wondering what would happen to my scholarship. Would I simply lose the scholarship only having used 2 years of it?

From what I've underestood from their website, Bright Futures only covers undergraduate study. I may be mistaken, though.

According to the profile for UF at PharmCAS,

"The College has an excellent endowment program for financial need based aid. State supported Florida Bright Futures Scholarships continue for Florida resident recipients through the first two professional years in the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program."

I'm not sure how accurate PharmCAS is. If anyone has first-hand experience concerning this matter any info would be greatly appreciated. (UF never answers my emails.)

Yes you'll get it for however many hours you have left, only at the undergrad rate of tuition....so you will stay have to pay for the rest of the tuition. Mine was already used up so I don't know how much it paid for those students still on it. They will go over all of that once you are accepted...and it might be on the cop website under financial aid, not sure though.
