To the SDN heavyhitters(BigFrank, Long Dong, etc) or those who took the boards -

Did you guys find BRS Physiology enough for the boards? First Aid mentions that their acid/base and respiratory Sections are weak - did you guys feel that way? I feel some sections are very well done while others look like a cut and paste water downed version of her STARS book.

I really enjoyed BRS Physio -- I thought it was sufficient as a review text. If you're counting on it to teach you physio, you'll be sorely disappointed.

But for Step I review, I thought the book was excellent.

Big frank is right, if you think you are already good at physio (and when I say good I mean REALLY thorough) then BRS is the way to go. Otherwise, kaplan physio will teach you everything from scratch, which is also pretty good. And if you are weak at acidbase, respiratory and endocrine, then kaplan is definitely the way to go.

Anyone find it amusing that some of the top students on SDN have names like BigFrank and Long Dong?

Let me restate my question. is the Physio in BRS Physio enough contentwise/detail wise for the boards?

if you have a good understanding of physiology allready it is more than enough.

I'm planning on using my big Costanzo. Bless that woman for writing one of the best texts!

Hey, just 1 more question...what about the graphs and stuff that are asked? Do you think that BRS phys covers it enuf?
