How do you fix an open margin on a temporary crown? I tried both flowable composite and brush beading but it didn't seem to work quite right. Does anyone know of a video I can watch? Thanks!

We use Neelon technique which is the brush beading I believe. Just cover the open area with the acrylic and let it set. Try to bulk it up a little so you have something to work with. Then when it sets completely, find the finish line and shave down to it.

Why isn't it working? What exactly is happening?

What I've always done is if there is a small open margin I make it bigger and then brush bead. Then just give it time (probably the hardest part for me) and don't take it off too early.
