The BCG vaccine is used only for disseminated TB in the immunodeficient (aka, the little babies of dear sweet Africa). Other than that, no prep is required, or even available.
Since most of your TB exposure is likely to be from aersolized droplets, you should definitely get the Hepa-95 or even the Hepa-99. AZ simple surgical mask does not protect against transmission of TB.
Be prepared for your PPD to turn positive, to have a lifetime of nurses reading your PPD freak out, even though you insist you will turn positive and have already had prohpylaxis. You will eat Isoniazid for 9 months upon your return to the states (dont forget your B6!) regardless of your Hemoptysis / CXR status.
And doy, wash your hands after every patient encounter. Your scope too.
Of course, the people you should be asking are the foreign travel people at your health center. Since you are probably going to Sub Sarrahan Africa or Asia, you probably need a **** ton more vaccines, etc, and perhaps asking the people that deal in travel can help you with your travel needs...
