I got accepted today, I found out when I woke up at 10am and checked AADSAS, it said..."Offer Made, At this time we have extended you an offer of admission. You will receive a packet in the U.S. Mail. Please allow 5 days or so for delivery from the date your status was updated. There will be instructions in your letter on how to accept the offer." 😀 👍 👍

I partyed last night, and today I am going out as well!

Yeah I got accepted too. As of right now looks like i am heading to bean town. Im psyched. where you all from? im from phoenix
 
Just got my packet in the mail from them. Pretty much jest an acceptance letter, some financial stuff, and some info on how to accept the offer, nothing special.

I am not sure where I will go yet, but I need to narrow between Tufts and BU for sure...

btw, on your acceptance letters, did you guys have a little portion that says that your acceptance is 'provisional pending completion of application requirements and participation in the EXCEL program'? Mine says that, and i was just wondering why they pulled that last minute EXCEL program thing on me... I think they're just dental school refresher/prep classes that we take in the summer, but i wasn't sure why it's not optional for me
 
Sweet.. looks like I am in too. From Canada here. Still waiting for the letter. 😀 Better hope they don't make me take that Excel program....
 
Some people have taken a few years break after college, or did not preform stellar in some of the science requirements so the school makes you do EXCEL. The classes offered are Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Physiology.

I strongly considered not doing it, but it turned out to be a great experience. The lectured given in this pre-program are extremely similar to those given during the academic year.

Oh yeah, and grades do not count.

do you get charged anything for the EXCEL program? or is it just an extra month of rent/food?

I'm still waiting on the letter but my AADSAS says "offer made." WOOOHOOO! I'm still waiting on my other schools to make a decision.

i had an interview in mid dec and still haven't heard
 
I just got in too!!! Just curious, is the deposit $3000 for everone??? or just for those who got in after Jan 15??? GL all!
 
To those of you who got accepted, CONGRATS!

Just a word of advice, in a couple months or so, you guys will get an invite to attend the EXCEL program, basically taking some dental classes to get a feel for the cirriculum. You'll have to pay $1000 AND do it over the summer.

I say don't.

As a first year BU dental student, I know personally that for most it makes no difference. ENJOY the summer, you'll need it...trust me. If you guys didn't know already, you'll have approximately 4 weeks of vacation for the YEAR, 2 during summer, 2 during winter.

With an exam about every week equivalent in difficulty to about an undergraduate final (probably harder), you'll be pulling your hair out that you spent that extra month getting a "feel" for classes you will absolutely dread 🙂

Hi guys, Congratulations to everyone who got in. My interview is on feb 5th, any suggestions?
 
I was also just invited to one of the feb/march interviews - anyone know how full the class is? I'm just wondering if its worth the trip out there if the class is already nearly full.
 
If you go to website, http://dentalschool.bu.edu/admissions/
and on the left, "Meet the Staff..."
one of those faculty will be your interviewer, (except the secretaries or Liane Weber). Just make sure you can carry a convo, and hopefully you will over prepare like I did and see that they are very nice and welcoming people.

Got the acceptance in the mail yesterday. Good thing I like the red sox over the yankees. See you all in the fall. I'm totally stoked.

i interviewed on feb. 20. i heard back in like 6 days which i thought was unheard of. i guess they liked my blue tie or something...

I did not receive anything in the mail...I saw on aadsas that I had matriculated. It was a couple weeks after I sent the money that I saw my aadsas was updated.

wow. 6 days thats really fast. Congrats!
I interviewed there a couple weeks ago and still havent heard any news.

If you dont mind me asking, what are your stats?
