I am interviewing at Bu and Tufts back to back. Should I just stay in the same hotel? or should I stay in 2 different ones (one near each school)? which would be more convenient?

Also, my schedule got all messed up so now I will be in Boston for 2 extra days (by myself 🙁 ). Do you think there is enough to do there so I can stay entertained by myself for 2 days. thanks.

BU and Tufts is close enough to where you can stay in one hotel if you're comfortable with the subway system (that way you don't have to move all your stuff from one place to another). Of course there are plenty of things here to do to keep yourself entertained. Although it is a little chilly this past week. I don't know if you really want to be out and about in this weather. 🙂

im in boston for 7 days by myself between interviews...should be a fun week though. go out and make some friends!

and about the hotels...the T is really convenient, i'm sure you can get anywhere in Boston with it.

i'm staying at the same hotel for both interviews. my time spent in boston will mostly be at the interviews, but i hope to find plenty to do when i'm not interviewing!

when are your interviews, cherryblossom?

anyone going to be in boston (tufts) on feb 12-13?!?!?!?

which hotel r u staying at?

I stayed at the Hyatt regency downtown. I got a really sweet deal on priceline for $80 per night. I interviewed at both schools back to back. Tufts was right down the street from the hotel and I had to take the T to the BU dental school. Everything is really close to each other but here's what I recommend you check out during your stay in bean town:

You'll notice a red line around town...it's the Freedom Trail. It takes you around to all the historic sites. It's really cool if you're into history or what a unique tour of the city.

Definitely eat at the place called Shabu-zen in chinatown if you like healthy asian cuisine. The style is "shabu shabu" or "hot pot." Very similar to fondue but healthier and asian. You cook you're own food and it was amazing.

If you like Italian food you MUST go to the north end and check out the places and pastry shops.

Fanuil Hall is a must with Quincy Market and the bars.

Check out Cambridge and Harvard. Theres this famous burger place we went to. Dirty, but it was some good grub.

Ride the T everywhere and watch out for the homeless people. Be prepared to see more Dunkin Donuts than you've seen in your entire life in one square mile radius. Enjoy Boston.

When i interviewd at tufts/bu i stayed at double tree hotel on washington. It is right across the street from Tufts and next to the T stop for orange and silver. The next day took the silver line (which is a bus) down to newton street and walked to BU. The transit time from hotel to bu is about 20min. The hotel cost was $120 and had a computer room with a printer for guests to use for free 🙂
Also they gave me a cookie! 🙂

I didn't explore much of the city because i was there for a short time. After my interview I walked to boston commons and came back because it was too cold and I was also tired because I took a red eye flight.
