Guys have you been checking the status of your BU app, trough the online app filing system? 'cause I do, every few days I log on and my app status remains the same, all it says is that my app was delivered. It has been 3 weeks now since I filed.

Will it ever change? will they update your status to something like under review, etc...?

hi meggs,
i think you should call up BU and find out. they tell appln status on wednesdays. I gt the call within 15 days of posting my online application. also they do not put up the status on the website. i think you shld call them up. they might even be able to tell you when they have scheuled you for an interview.

Thanks sanju, I just did so. But the extremely rude girl who picks up the phone, certanly won't cooperate. She kept forwarding me to different answering machines. I'm heading to work right now, so I won't be able to call again, until next week. Great! 😡

I have the same situation as you.same old message on my account.I submitted my app to BU on 01/10/2003.the only thing that I got from them 10 days ago was the letter that everyone got,which said that their minimum scores required are part-1= 85%,TOEFL=257.......

i can definately understand your anxiety. i called up BU to ask whether they had recieved my application. I asked them to transfer me to advanced standing. i did not speak to the lady who picked up the phone. i clled sometime in the afternoon last wednesday. initially i was connected to the answering machine, but after calling 2-3 times the same day i finally got to talk to this guy in charge of advanced standing. He told me that he had recieved the material and had scheduled me for jan 8th.
i then got 2 letters from them on saturday. on said the same thing that sam3 's letter said. the other one was the interview call. so guys, keep trying. i know it i annoying but there is nothing much we can do. i can understand since i have applied to NYU and have the same problem there. nobody is ready to tell the application status.

'' We are reviewing your file now, we interview an 85 or above on NB1 and a 250 or above on TOEFL.

I got an email from BU. Just the typical stuff, ''We received your application, the minimum requirements are....''

This time the email was from someone else, from Basel Barqawi,
Senior Admissions Coordinator. All the previous emails I had gotten from BU were from Amy Toledano and Samantha Balzano.
What struck me the most is that this person, Basel, mail me from a hotmail account. 😕

I submitted my electronic app on Oct 11th, and mailed my app packet withing that same week.

Anyway... only a lame old email, probably I'll get the same letter soon...🙄

i had to activate my admission application n was in boston.happened 2 come across these 2 people.there is a lady who is senior n she is an MBA n is good 2 talk 2 but the person who really takes care of the basic paper work is a guy looks like an arabian may b u r talkin bout him...he is new n is good with no attitude i guess, so u can talk to him.he has replaced kevin acorne.i m sure he ll help....the head as everybody must b knowing is Ms.Nargess Ashayyeri.U ll find her approachable too n i hav not been interviewed there as yet but i m sure nobody at BU looks strict n stoic to me as i hav a lotta friends there n they say people r responsive there.
so i m sure u can go ahead n contact em.the trick is to get the line to them thazzit...

Basel is a guy who is in charge of advanced standing applications. sam3 i submitted my online application on 21st october and the application documents on the 22nd. i had called up BU on the 29th and spoken to this one Mr.Basel . he told me then itself that i had been scheduled for the 8th of January. i got the interview letter on the 31st of october.

Thanks Sam for confirming the name gender for me. Before repplying to his email, I thought about what the heck he could be for minutes. I even asked people around me, but no, no one could figure it out. I guess at home we're a bunch of culturally challenged people. 😀

Finally I got an interview call from BU.I am schedualled for the 11th of december.It is true that it is only an interview,and it does not mean any acceptance yet,but I am all excitede cause I know now that someone looked at my cridentials.

I am so happy,cause as I posted befor I applied to 6 six Canadian schools in 2002 and NON of them bothered to call me for any interview.


I wish all the luck for all of you foriegn dentists out there.By the way who else beside Lebelle is going on the 11th.

Chiquita is something little, since it ends with an "a" it denotes female gender. "Chiquita Banana..." someone remembers those?? 😀

That's right. 🙂 But we don't directly refer to girls as "mujer or hembra", you just refer to as girl, as in "Hi girl". Girl for us is like muchacha, chica, tipa, chava, etc. 🙂

hey guys,

i decided just 2 days bck that i shud apply to BU
I know i am alreddy EXTReeemly late to be applying.
ANyways..its gonna take another 10 days for the ADA to send my score reports to them.

Now the problem...i gave an online application...and by mistake i paid $60 by credit card....only later i realised that i have to pay $90.NOw i frannntically tried callin up the admissions office..
BUt nobody seems to pick up the fone..so i left 4 voice messages!!!!.

Can anybody tell me,,,if i can pay the rest $30 by check along with the documemts that i will be sending to BU???

--,,,do i have to notarize my VISA documents too??

--Is there any websites where i can track whether my TOEFL scores have reached them or not>>>???

I don't have the answer to the payment Qtn,but Can't you cancel the credit card payment and make a new one ?anyway better to find out from the admissions office.
rgding visa documents,it is safer to notarise it as you are sending a copy.
Toefl will sent you a confirmation letter stating that they have sent the score reports to the schools you requested.

hey there...as the person above has listed, you can just go ahead and call yur credit card company and get that payment cancelled and then re-do the payment..am sure its not a big issue, but yeah....it would become an irritating issue if you go ahead and send that 30$ check and they misplace it or dont actually corelate that with this payment/ application etc etc (which they are most capable of!)
and coming to yur score reports, i suggest that you dont wait for the irresponsible ADA and they are never on time....so just go ahead and send a notarised copy of yur scores to them..YES! that is accepted, and when yu go for your interview, you can produce yur original......

I finally got in touch with the university .I asked them abt my credit payment of 60dollars...they said dont worry...eveb if u clicked on 60 dollars...we will credit it as 90 dollars..So all those people out ther who've made this silly mistake...as long as u paid by credit...they will deduct that amount required,even though u credit for a wrong amount.

About toefl...its soo funny..even though i had mentioned during the testing day that i want it to be sent to boston..BU hasnt recieved my scores...i didnt want to waste further time..so i just called up toefl and made the payment for the score reports to be sent to BU.
charged me like 27dollars!!!!
Wats even worse is...i lost my copy of toefl.So i asked themt o send one to me....Another 27dollars was charged.

I hope Ada sends them my score reports FAST...i just cant BANK on them....soo slooooooowwwww..
I hope BU at least looks at my application.

I alredy made the payment of 27dollars on fone..there was an automatic processing machine..which informed me that they will send it in send it in 4 days to the code 3081 for BU.

I found out that if i have to fax a request..they will take a 7 days to get to see the request...and Only then wil they send it out to the university. Thats why its only 12 dollars.
U know what....the automatic answsering machine specified what the dept code was..and i entered '00'...as mentioned in the BU application form.. but according to the answering machine this code is for "undergraduate studies."!!!
I just gave the code that BU specified which is 00.

anyways....i juzt hope dey get it.
