I'm estimating 300K for Indiana and 340K for Boston. Is BU worth the extra 40k? I get the vibe that students are not very happy at Indiana, but Indiana will train you better than BU. That and Boston is obviously a nicer city/has more to do.

Well, question is, how big a fan of PBL are you?

For 40k more loans I'd rather live in Boston personally.

As somebody said before, Indiana does PBL, so it's a question of if you like PBL or not. If you do then go ahead and live in Indiana, cause 40k is a lot of money lol.

When interviewing at Indiana, I got the impression that students were pretty happy. Seemed like a decent place to spend 4 years and the training is great. I just couldn't justify the 100k+ extra when I got into my state's public school.

I'm fine with PBL but I'm not sure Indiana actually delivers on the curriculum. Case has actually sold me its PBL hybrid curriculum better. (I have not heard from Case yet but it would take priority over these two schools)

40K on the line means that it is pretty objective. Some students are happy and some are not. It is really difficult to determine if you will want to spend 4 year of your life at a place that you just visited for 4 hours. The are both good schools to attend and either way you will be a competent dentist. If you really like BU then that is maybe where you should go. IU is a good school as well.
