School 1: UMN

OOS
Pros:
  • COA is 520k
  • Large City
  • Cold (idc)
I want to specialize not sure how good the school is (i need insight on this)
Cons:
  • A bit old
  • Graded
School 2: Boston University
OOS
Pros:
  • COA is 520k (with what they are giving me)
  • Large City
  • Cold (idc)
I want to specialize, not sure how good the school is (I need insight on this)
Cons:
  • Graded
Summary: I don't have any attachment to either city; I'm from LA, so both seem relatively far. Their CoA, based on what I've been offered, is very similar, so it's not a factor. I want to become a great general dentist, but I want to go to the school that gives me a better shot at specializing as well. I've seen the "you can specialize from any school," but I was wondering if any of them make a big difference in that, as some other schools have a high match rate to top residencies.

How are you going to pay for 520k? You're capped at 200k of federal loans.
thats not the point i need help choosing why do people on the forum always bring up cost
like we all get it ok

Because dentistry is not worth it at the prices of both schools you got into.

How are patients managed in clinic? How old is old for Minnesota?
for both schools they are managed by the school, old as in as much as a state school can afford i guess kinda no digital dentistry

Instruments? Simulation technology? What do the students say about cases and interaction with graduates and international dentists?
