Bump in the Verbal Road?

Has anyone ever been studyin verbal and all of a sudden hits a snag and starts scoring lower than usual? In the last two days I suddenly am scoring 7 and 8 on two different tests I've taken when I normally get at least 2 points higher. Its scaring the bejeezus outta me! Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have any suggestions as to what to do?? Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem, verbal was my strongest section, and on aamc 4R and 5R my scores have plummeted (I had done well with the EK verbal and 3R), I don't understand.

omg how bizarre. ME TOO! i got 11s on the first five EK 101 tests, and 11s on aamc 3 and 4...then on aamc 5 i got a 9! what's up with us?? 🙂

Hi,
Same thing happened to me too.. I was scoring close to 12 on the passages in the vr book... and then did vr101 exercise 1 and scored about5. It scared the daylights out of me.. i told myself i had had a bad test day, took a few days off came back to it.. now i am doing 9's and i think by the time i take the test i will be doing better.. In essence, i think it is a good thing that i had that big dip. Made me wonder and improve..

(in order of progression) sadness....and VR is my strongest i am conting on it 🙁 gotta pump it bk up or something ASAP

Wow, that 13 on 3R score is awesome! Mad props if you get that on the real thing! How do you go about reading your passage? Do you ahve your own style or do you use TPR, Kaplan, EK? I'm still at a point where I'm down to try any new techniques.
