Has anybody ever encountered any UNUSUAL buoyancy questions on the MCAT?

i remember reading one about an object floating in the moon and whether or not it would float the same way on earth.

I had one on my exam and it was just a qualitative question...basically a free point

Might've been. I am not sure. I just know that they float the same way regardless of the g value differences because bouyancy depends on the balance of bouyant (upward) force and the normal force. if the question were about free-falling, the difference of value for g would need to be considered.
