My life has sucked for 3 STRAIGHT MONTHS.
'nuff said, and I don't really care to elaborate.

Please tell me fellowship and the rest of my life isn't going to be like this.

Depends on the fellowship and specialty.

I will say that the first year of fellowship (almost regardless of specialty) will have you pining for the glory days of being an intern in the ICU.

After that (at least in my specialty) it's a damn picnic.

indeed. it really depends. cardiologists and gi docs are crazy busy when on call, but many have np's to gather histories and whatnot.

but the easiest one is icu/pulm docs here at the hospital where I am. in the icu, they don't do much. they round in the am whenever, do some teaching, help with procedures if needed, do bronchs if needed and bill. that's it. very cush. on pulmonary consults there's an np that can help triage and get histories. pulmonary consults in the clinic are 9 to 5.

first year of fellowship is pretty damn bad

once you're done you won't have to stay in any position where it sucks forever though, at least you'll be getting paid while it sucks, and hen when you can you can leave an go somewhere where it will not suck

don't know what to tell you, some days it's a thankless job
