Burrel COM Rejection already

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just my personal opinion, but if a school won't even take 5 minutes out of their day to give you a very brief explanation as to why you were rejected, then you bet I wouldn't be attending there. I understand there are a lot of applicants, but even it if took a month or two to get back to my I'd be fine....but, to actually refer you to a 3rd year who has no idea what he or she is looking for..that's insulting.

Well I am very thankful to them for offering me an opportunity to shadow. I dont know how it is in every city, but in my city the doctors are not very willing to let people shadow.
and I am not upset about their response either, just weary if something will actually come out of trying to contact all the schools that rejected me and ask why.

Me neither! Especially considering that they rejected me

I'm not really saying anyone should make a big deal out of the situation, but I was just saying that in my opinion the admissions office should take care of the consultations that go on for those who were rejected and want to learn why and how to better their applications. An OMS-3 isn't going to know anything more than most of the medical students on here. The benefit of talking to the admissions office is you are able to ask questions directly with those who rejected you from their school, which intuitively they would know the exact reasons and how to fix those flaws.

Dropped out of SGU, and hid the fact pretty well...

His reason for leaving SGU was because he was "waitlisted" at DO schools, when he never got one II in the first place.

I applied to american medical schools in september /october while at SGU and when I started getting atleast waitlists I decided it wasnt worth it for me to pay the insane tuition for the quality of education on the island. And like you said if someone can pass SGU they shouldnt be there in the first place.

Applied late last cycle, I am aware, September, I had it verified and most schools received them in about 3 weeks. Secondaries were/are being submitted approximately 48 hours after receiving them (always less, never more time than this).

There are no red flags, I didnt get any interviews but I did get a bunch of interview waitlists at about 7 or 8 of the 20 schools I applied to

Attending SGU affected him. There was another member who also had DO interviews and was on several wait lists, but didn't get off any of them.

As a teaching moment, the OP would be DOA at my school for having gone Carib. My school doesn't like Carib refugees or rejects. OP didn't help himself by continually thinking that his GPA was his problem. There's a moral in this story, somewhere.
😉

OP has had at least two other accounts and got banhammered on them as well. Loose cannon and all that. He even PM'd me and requested that I do not respond to his posts!

BCOM said they were making a decision for an interview for me tomorrow. so nervous 🙁(((

How did you find that out? When were you complete?
the committee has a meeting every wed to look at applications and pick the ones they want to invite for an interview. I submitted my secondary a week and a half ago. expect a call wed evening or early thursday morning for an interview. those are the time frames.
