BU's waitlist

Has anyone heard anything about BU's waitlist?
I heard that BU puts 250 people on the waitlist.
Does this mean that they accept only the number of slots that they have and as people decline, BU goes down the waitlist?
Or do they give more acceptances than slots knowing people will decline?
Also, when does BU start looking at the waitlist? I have a friend who got in of the waitlist in May.. is it possible that BU would start looking in April?

It is funny you brought this up, I just recently found out that there are 250 people on the waiting list for a 100 spots. In order to get in, some of that 100 would have to decline for you to be accepted and the cycle goes on. Pretty annoying, I really want to go there, yeah I know, it is expensive but i just love the school. Any advice on what to do?

Also, the is no order to who gets in, basically they review people on the list again and let you in as them see fit.
