Just received an email that I am now able to purchase one. US probe that attaches to an iPhone. Anyone personally used one? Thoughts?
how much is the subscription to their cloud?
I don’t have the mega 10 XXX
I’m interested in the cardiac quality myself.
I’ve read both that it performs well and also that it’s garbage for cardiac from different sources.
Would be nice to demo it myself
I would love to know how good this is for nerve blocks.
Here you go. Fresh off the press:
* sciatic just before bifurcation.*
Wow, looks pretty good. Where do you place your phone/screen during the block?
So anyone figure out how to get butterfly images onto Epic?
I’ve been playing with one. Image quality is more than adequate for lines and blocks. Starts up almost immediately with very intuitive controls.
The only issue I’ve encountered so far is that the probe is quite thick so if you are using it for a superficial out of plane procedure such as an Aline, your needle tip can be deep to the artery before it appears in the exam plane. I’ve had to adjust my technique so that my entry angle is very shallow. Otherwise it works as advertised.
How well does it resolve endocardial structures and valves ?
Not that great....in cardiac exam mode you give up a LOT of spatial resolution for temporal resolution. You could probably see obvious leaflet restriction, calcification, or prolapse, chamber size and function, effusions, etc. It also has color Doppler. It’s probably good enough to make a diagnosis such as severe calcific AS but not something like mitral P2 prolapse. It’s nothing like TEE.
The stills from the cardiac clips are not worth posting but here’s a popliteal sciatic nerve and an adductor canal.
What kind of patient population do you have where the saphenous nerve is at 2.5cm?!? I wish.
