Buying own Malpractice Insurance

For those who have their own malpractice insurance, do you recommend using a broker like Arthur Galleghar or some company like that or do you think it's Ok to go to the malpractice company's website and inquire? Is there value in going to an insurance broker to buy malpractice insurance, like can they get you lower premium rates? If one is leaning toward a malpractice insurance company because of their ratings or because they provide nationwide coverage or whatever reason, should one just contact the malpractice company on one's own vs contacting a broker?
