What is standard malpractice coverage for locums ?

Starting a mostly pediatric anesthesia 1099 gig , being offered claims made with tail with each occurrence a max coverage of 1 million and total aggregate per year 3 million. Wanted to know if I am being under insured and should negotiate for higher or is this standard ?

That's what I've had for all my jobs but one. that other was an occurrence policy, but similar 1m. Occasionally I see 2m/6m listed in posts, but it's rare from the jobs I've seen.

I think that is standard. Most places locum or hospital employed do the lowest amount allowed by law. To avoid attracting more malpractice lawsuits looking for a big payday. The more important thing is tail coverage (since most are claims made) plus your own asset protection strategies.
