Buying used lead aprons; how to know if still good?

Can you guys tell me how to know if used lead is good and worthy of purchase? I know it to be very lightly used but about 5 years old in age.

Have to do a good survey under X-ray looking for cracks or wear points

How about $300 and get a new one, don't think radiation exposure is where I would look to cut costs

This should be done on a yearly basis for all aprons and documented.

Yep. You can ask a physicist from your local hospital to come out and test your aprons...or just do it yourself.

i use one of those light weight ones. feels a lot better on the back.

i dont have a horse in the race, but have a "hook up" where you may be able to get discount...
