Hi, I went to a university that has a quarter system. I passed gchem 100A and 100B, but got a C- in gchem 100C. I know that most pharmacy schools will not accept C- grades. So, I plan to retake gchem 100C at a community college that has a semester system. I was wondering if I can just take the second semester of gchem at a CC or do I have to take the first semester, too? Also, how will pharmas calculate my GPA if I get an A in gchem at the CC? Will they just average the two grades even though one is from a qtr system and the other is from a semester system?

I think the content you're studying will only be in the 2nd semester.

They will calculate both grades.

You don't need to retake both classes, but if you feel that it would increase your GPA, then maybe you should retake them all. Pharmcas will average your grades. You will actually have to enter them in yourself.

pharmcas will average them out, but depend on the institution if they average retakes or not. there is always hope

Also, you might want to check if the comm. college gpa for that class in the end will transfer. For example, in NOVA, only the credit will transfer and the gpa will never appear at your institution unless you have some dumb special case or something. Luckily, it was a crap health course that I had taken last summer and wasn't big of a deal.
