I got a D in calculus and look at me now er......
Kids, don't get less than A's in calculus, science classes too.
Oh no! You can no longer attain a 4.0 GPA even if you get As in every single one of your other classes! You should open console and type in 'quit life' to solve all your problems.

omg, get over it. C's happen....yeah, it sucks, but we all just deal with it, ok? 🙄 no need for drama
Your dream is dead. Just give up.
Yeah I had some W's on my transcipt too, come to think of it. And some Cs.
Dont listen to these guys giving you a hard time. It isnt the end of the world. They have post bacc's for people who got a C in math. I would look into one before I applied. Here is a link to a really good one a friend of mine took this year.

lol...you kids make me laugh with your neuroses. I hope the OP isn't serious.
My transcript was peppered with fun letters and symbols like "B," "C," "-," and "W." You premed-types may not be familiar with them, but they mean "less than perfect." I'm less than perfect, and I'm cool with that. So are you. Accept it, learn from your mistake, and don't let it happen too often. You'll still be able to get into med school, as long as you aren't this neurotic in real life. I think they can sniff those types out at the interviews. 🙂

Ditto on this LW! While my C- in PChem, B- and B in Orgo I and II, B in Calc II did not rock my world academically, I will still be starting med school this fall. Woot! Get the best grades you can (the C- was the best I could do in PChem but I could have done better in the others) and it'll be easier, but even with grades like this initially, it isn't impossible to get in.
My Life is stained by sin and selfishness. I am obsessesed with myself and getting into medical school. It is all I think about. Please forgive me. Please.

yep
You may get into a med school, but it probably won't be Duke, JHU, Harvard, or WashU. That doesn't seem to be a very big deal to people on this board for some reason.
Dude, doctors can't count too well. I've seen quite a few of my lecturers screwing up things like taking 20% of 50. So C in Calculus won't be a black mark on your list. Just make sure where aren't too many more of C's on your transcript.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Why would it be a big deal? Not everyone is wrapped up in prestige but just want to be physicians. In that case, it doesn't matter where you graduate from.
I got a C+ in Calculus II, then repeated the course and got a B-. I was pissed, but Calculus happens. Course, I was stupid and took Calculus III, and I hate calculus. lol
It took me 3 tries to get Calculus 2 right. Once in Magnet Calculus in high school. (C) Once in AP Calculus in high school (I didn't finish Magnet Calculus, switched out. (B, 3 on AP BC). Once in college (A)
3rd time is the charm. 😀 That being said, your C isn't so bad that it'll kill your med school chances. Unless a crazy mathematician walks into the hospital and starts asking for the derivative of x^4-x^3+x^5+google and the only way to stop him from dying is to tell him the derivative. Then, get help.

Nope. They only let perfect people in because medical School is all calculus, all the time.
