How bad does a C in organic look like on the transcripts for the Dental schools?

If i get a C in organic, I will freak out 🙁. I've got a B going so far...

Work hard and keep your B at all costs.

Its that bad huh?

🙁

Any of you get C's in organic, but maintain a solid GPA?

Look, its not THAT bad. But in certainly sucks to have a C in a BCP class. At this point, it seems you are already trying to comfort yourself for getting a C. Fogett'abouit, and just work hard and get the B.

just my opinion.

i agree....if you've got a B so far, work hard to keep it.

Though if you do need a little comfort...i got a C first semester and a B second in Orgo. To prove to adcoms that I know orgo, i studied hard for the DATs on got a 23 on the orgo section. I have a few interviews, so a C isn't going to kill you BUT you do have to work that much harder to make up for it.

Heres my opinion.

Work your arse off the rest of the semester and get the A. If you shoot for the A, then the worst you have to worry about is getting a B. Set your goals high my friend.

A C in OCHEM is not the end of the world, but it sure does look better to have an A or a B.

Strive for a B or an A, but don't worry if you do get a C. I got a C in o-chem and I have had 5 interviews, and its not because I have a spectacular GPA. I think adcomms understand that o-chem is a very cut-throat class at most univerisites. At mine, the profs only handed out a few A's and there were over 500 people in my class. Do well on the DAT and most adcomms will look past it. Good luck the rest of the semester.

Thanks u guys 🙂

That was very supportive 😀

Here's my take - if you're in the class right now you shouldn't even be considering getting a C. Do what it takes to get the A - it's silly to cry over spilled milk but even worse when the milk has yet to be spilled. Cowboy up or whatever they always say on fear factor (gotta watch something during Monday night football commercials). Anyways, don't waste your time complaining when you can still do something about it.

That being said, if you come back in January with a C, I will tell you it's not the end of the world and things are still OK.
