I were there for the morning section. My name is Phuong Le, did you get accept?
Oh I was at the afternoon interview! I did get accepted. I'm sure a lot of kids are going to withdraw their seat once they hear back from other schools! Best of luck!!!

Question, will they not review your application/give you an interview (if possible) until all your courses are complete? (i still have a few pre-reqs I'm completing right now).. that's something I am confused about

They will still interview you, did you state that in pharmcas that you are currently enrolled and are completing classes? For another school I did not have the biochem class required but I'm currently enrolled, so in my acceptance letter it stated I needed to complete with at least a C before I entered pharmacy school! You will be fine!

Ok cool. Thanks! I was just confused about the email I received about my app being processed. I read it as they wont review it until all the courses are done. but yep, I listed all the classes I need to take there to complete by Fall entry.

After the status say's "application is processed and is being reviewed by admissions" How long did it take to hear if you got an interview?

It took about a week but it could take longer if they have a lot of students trying to get their applications in before the deadline! If they gave you a password and username you can log into it and see the status! Good luck !

No... We don't have to complete that until May right?

They will review your file before you complete the pre-reqs but once you get accepted and the required courses are not completed by the end of summer A, you will not be accepted into school.

I just have to get my physical done..The immunization part gave me the most trouble because I didn't have exact dates for all my immunizations...I have learned the military doesn't like giving out records! the military record I have just said positive for all immunizations it wasnt a complete report ugh! I luckily found all dates except hep B series that I got in High School. I tittered and the Hep B series came back OK but my Measles was negative?!?! but Rubella was positive..crazy! So.. I had to re-immunize and in 30+++ days I can re- titre showing proof of antibodies. I did mine through my University thank goodness because its expensive! My immunization lady told me it was a good thing I started early because when everyone is trying to do this there will be hardly any appointments available. Timeline: started Jan 22 did my 2 step tb got done by 2/5. Titre came in and had to re-immunize and have to wait 6-8 weeks to re-titre and I will be done March 20th??....Drug screen and background check was quick and easy not even a day... =) Good luck everyone!

Got invited for an interview today!! Anyone else interviewing on 2/27? Im so nervous!

Hey, good luck! Well when I was there, I probably had the best interview experience there. The students and faculty were so nice that they made you feel comfortable. That is why I picked LECOM. When you get there it will be quiet with all the other applicants but if I were you I'd start talking to everyone so it gets you warmed up. Hope you're not nervous about it now 🙂

How long after the interview did you have to wait to find out that you were accepted? How were the interview questions?

I got interviewed on a Thursday, found out the following Monday. The interview questions were so easy. They were all basic questions. Why pharmacy, why LECOM, where you are from etc.

For the people on the alternate list I suggest you do whatever you can to better your application by being proactive and keeping interest with LECOM. If that's your number one pick.

Volunteer, do research project, work experience, anything that proactive to make them know you're doing something besides sitting around, lol

how would they know you doing any of those? you have to send letter to them and tell them?

Keeping in touch with the school and updating your résumé, or PharmCAS. I'd do all three

I understand that i need to contact with school once every couple week but not sure about PharmCAS because it not really send update to all the school. and for the resume, should i send it directly to Lecom?

Is there a facebook page for the class of 2018?

Did anyone have to do the written assessment during their interview? If so what was it like? What type of topics? Im just so nervous, not only do I have to stress about the interview but I have to write an essay as well lol Any advice would be amazing 🙂

It's easy. They want to make sure you can write. 🙂

Essay is easy.....don't be nervous the interview isnt stressful..

If an applicant has no prior pharmacy tech experience, do they have much of a chance of receiving an interview offer? If they do happen to receive an offer, is it likely that they will be "grilled" about this during the interview?

No not really. I know a lot of people who got accepted without any experience. However, I do recommend volunteering/shadowing a pharmacist or even working for a chain because this is going to be your profession and I know plenty who changed their mind about their decision while they were in the program. Now they are stuck with a ton of debt and have no option but to stay and stick with it! I actually recently talked to a current p1 about that.

Personally when I had the idea of going into pharmacy I wanted to make sure that it was what I wanted and worked in the pharmacy and I loved it and that's when I decided to dedicate my time and money to do what I loved doing. I just thought it was a big commitment and money like Cleveland said it will be horrible to be to far and stuck doing something you don't like.

Also...lecoms interview is not set up to grill anyone like other schools. It is very laid back and they didnt treat the other people in my group any different from those who had and didn't have experience. Good luck

Is anyone applying for the new distance pathway? Haven't heard much about it....

Hi everyone, coming from Cleveland, Oh here. I will have an interview on March 6th and kind of nervous. Any of you that had been interviewed before, was it 1 on 1 or with a group?
I was hoping to get in this school because of the warm weather all year round instead of barely any sun in Cleveland 😉
I have a B.S. in Respiratory Care and have been working in acute care for more than 4 years.
GPA
Biology: 3.78
Math: 3.78
Overall:3.39
PCAT: ;(

I don't know if my stat is competetive enough for the end of the cycle interview.

Nice knowing more than 2 people applying from Cleveland! Hello, and good luck to you! Yes it may seem late but they actually interview all the way until may! And then if I remember, they review alternate list in June. So you are fine and I wouldn't worry about anything. Your gpa is great and you have real life work experience. Be prepared to show your passion about pharmacy and how your current job changed your mind about why you chose pharmacy as a profession. Also, mention why you want to be in LECOM. (Weather is nice and all but shouldn't be top priority)

Nice..good luck! Don't be nervous! Your gpa is nice and you have a bachelor's which is a plus..I don't think you'll have a problem.

Does anyone know if Bradenton is full yet? I saw on lake Erie thread it was full by January.....crazy.

I just got accepted into Bradenton so I'm sure they have openings, especially since kids will be leaving for first choices and such up until a few months before school starts

So Im preparing for my interview thats on Thursday and reviewing possible questions. I wanted to see if anyone had any comments/suggestions for the "Why Lecom?" question. I have my personal reasons for why I wish to attend Lecom but when doing some research on the university I have had trouble finding much information aside from their mission and goals section. Any suggestions :/

I think this really goes for any interview......

Just tell that what they want to hear you admire the ciriculum, the staff, the opportunities that LECOM will provide wether you believe it or not just make up so BS stuff and if you have any personal reasons tell them that too.

Honestly I prepared for my interview the morning of. I didn't want to script my answers though. I wanted to have a conversation with them and that's exactly what they want to do with you. They are doing 1 on 1 interviews with you to converse with you and get to know who you are as an individual and set aside all your grades, and all those other numbers on paper. You have to speak from your heart and they will notice that. If you give them generic answers they will look at you as any other applicant that says the same stuff over and over. You got to make yourself stand out from all 400+ applicants who received an interview.

Just my two cents.

I 100% agree with you! I was completely honest in all of my interviews and got into all schools I applied to so I think it worked! My answers were not perfect and I didn't pass myself as a model student! I made mistakes, withdrew from classes and I learned from it! When they asked me how I studied I told them it took me a while to learn how to study, and when I did poorly I realized watching tv with my books open was not an appropriate way to learn! Just be yourself and you will do great!

I reviewed the night of...and to be honest when I got to my interview section I didn't say what I practiced because it just didn't flow right..it seemed rehearsed and you don't converse like that naturally so I just went with the flow. Also..ask questions too. Good luck

Kinda random question, but does anyone know if the school accepts applied calculus for the calculus requirement?

Hi Cleveland, nice knowing that there is also someone from Cleveland, Oh.
The closer it is to the interview date, the more nervous I am. The last time I had a job interview was way way back in 2009, but I was not nervous but excited. However, for some reason I am nervous for pharm school interview..kind of silly huh?

I work at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and go to Cleveland State. if you are at CSU, maybe we can hang out a bit during break time.

Do you know if it was a 1 on 1 or a group interview? What kind of questions did they asked?

Thanks

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. I graduated from csu last year so I am not really on campus but if you wanna meet up shoot me a message and if we aren't working we can hang out before your interview for some advice. Id say being nervous for this is normal because it's for your future but then again you won't get paid to go there versus a job interview, lol. It's a 1 on 1 interview by the way!

I just submitted my supplemental. Are you applying for the distance pathway?

Yep! Or I guess I should say, I hope to apply for it; I still haven't even submitted my PharmCAS application because I've been waiting on one of my reference-writers to actually write & submit the reference to PharmCAS. I understand that the application is due *tonight* by 11:59 PM, so it looks like I'm just gonna have to submit it either way. Do you know if they'll still review the application without the reference having been completed? I don't want to waste my money if not...

BTW, have you heard whether a lot of people are applying for the distance pathway?

I know they require 2 LORs. I suggest you call admissions to see if they accept the LOR being mailed to them after the deadline. If not, then don't waste your money.

I haven't heard about much about people applying to the distance pathway, but I'm sure they'll still get hundreds of applicants for 24 seats. Good luck!

Unfortunately I didn't call them in time, so does anyone know if LECOM will still process an app if they don't submit it with both LORs?

I was just accepted on Monday from the feb 27th interview. Best of luck to all that are applying!
