CA or OR reciprocity

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I got my OR license through license transfer last summer. I started the process in mid-April, I took the MPJE in late May, I passed early June, and got my license July 3. I kind of took my time because getting it after July 1st let me be exempt from CE's from the first renewal. I probably could have gotten my license way earlier if I tried, Oregon is pretty easy.

ETA: Since the next poster talked about ATT time, I got mine the day after I applied for it. Very fast.

Thanks for the response! What did you use to study for the mpje?

Not sure about transfer for CA as I applied by original exam, but can take at least 45 days or more to get authorization to test for CPJE from when you submit your application and that's if there are no errors/deficiencies. Score results are sent out in monthly batches so can take 10-45 days to get your score in the mail. Sign up for USPS informed delivery and they'll send you a picture of your mail every morning. If the transparent window on the envelope is dark (the result paper is green but the picture is in black and white) you passed. If it's white then you maybe failed. There are plenty of forums on SDN about CPJE batches/predates and when you can expect your scores. Processing times have been increasing every year as California pumps out more and more graduates. Sometimes there is a QA period sometime from August to the end of the year which can delay score results significantly so I'd recommend taking your test before then. If you fail expect at least another 45 days to retest. Once you get a passing score in the mail, you must send in an additional application for your license with a fee. The board processes money orders much more quickly than checks so only send money orders. It took 15 days from when I got my score in the mail until my license posted online. Welcome to California.

Thanks for the details! Honestly their process seems so much more complicated than other states. It’s off-putting
