Private practice (sort of)

Academic hospital with no anesthesia residents so I'll be supervising CRNAs all day long as well as teaching the occasional medical students/ER residents.

50% fellowships
almost everyone else in academics.
a few ppl in private practice.
it's gettn tight in and around nyc.

Our four chief residents are all doing fellowships. Me in CT. One in Thoracic, one in Pediatrics and one in Critical care. One of the other residents is doing a CT fellowship on the east coast. The other 14 are going into PP in various areas. I think that one or two picked up a last minute job with the Somnia AMC that took over Providence Everett. The vast majority had to leave the Seattle area as the job market is incredibly tight right now.

Several of our residents are returning to their home states to take some nice PP jobs. Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, etc.

thoracic? is that even a fellowship? I mean I know most CT fellowships are mainly C and litle or no T but what is the benefit of a thoracic fellowship? Is it a year of putting in double lumen ETTs?
