hi ...i need help regarding LOR...... can i get LOR from current dean of my dental school ( i graduated 9 years back and the dean has changed now) or it should be necessarily from the previous dean ( when i graduated )............any help will be appreciated
I wanna ask aquestion,,,
I am applyin on caapid ,,,, for uic .......
first : when should I submit the online application,,,,should be after the caapid processed or I can do it even before processing?
Second: when Iam trying to do the online application , I have aproblem regarding the planned course study,,,,the only choice there is periodontics,,,,,but what I am not interested in periodontics,,,,,,,,and what should I do with the additional information required ,,they say that we should first contact the periodontics dr....I don't understand anything
third: when should I send the supplemental documents? after the processing of the caapid ,,,,or after submittung the online application.?

First : For me, I did it before all CAPPID procedure will be finished. I am still working on writing personal statement and waiting LORs. I think it should be OK to submit the online application first.
Second : I encountered the same problem before. I think you might make an account before IDDP Dentistry was put on the list of the Application Type like I did. Try to apply for "New" on Application menu, and you will be able to see the "IDDP Dentistry" on the Application type menu.
Third : Also for me, I already sent my supplemental documents because I think there is no harm in submitting them earlier, and I couldn't find no specific instruction regarding the order of sending them.
These all are my case. Any comment?
i've got lor but i think i cant send them to caapid because as i understood from the instructions , the evaluator should either send the LOR directly to caapid or electronically .correct me if i am wrong . it will be much easier if i could send it to caapid ,a little bit confused about this point , a little advice please

I think you can send them if they are in closed envelopes.I did it this way,provided you should ask your evaluators to enclosed the matching form

if you have the LORS sealed, you can send them by yourselves stapled with lor matching form with corrresponding letter..

How long does ADA take to send official score report to the the universities ? do they really take 3 weeks as its mentioned in the NBDE 1 guide ??? how about mailing time is it included in that period ???
what if i receive my NBDE 1 result by mid August, would I be able to send my application a program which deadline is Sep 1st ???

since both go to different departments it takes a couple of days to update the status of either on of them...you can still call them and verify
They updated my transcript after 12 days but LOR only after 3-4 days.Same happened last year too. So I guess their Transcript processing dept. is really slow.
NO NEED TO CALL THEM IT HAPPENS WITH ALL.

On CAAPID application under professional experience click on "other relevant information",under that you will be able to write about all your CE credits.600 characters limited.

2) With LORS, caapid said that we either need to send original or notarised copies? In this case, is it okay that we can fill ourselves the matching forms and then attach it to each LOR separately and send them? LAST YEAR, I JUST SEND PHOTOCOPIES OF LORS, EVEN WITHOUT NOTARISATION, ONLY WITH MATCHING FORMS AND MY APPLICATION WAS COMPLETE. So, is it mandatory to get them notarised?

I feel you should apply caapid first so that you will get a ccapid id,then send the lors and ece with caapid id written on it.
Thanks partial denture, but I have started with my caapid application, and have an ID now, but its just that I have not submitted it yet. In this case, van I send my LORS and other docs with ID?

I want to apply to ucsf and usc.is it compulsory to send original sealed transcripts from the schools where i studied even if i have sent ece report. and usc wants proof of licence to practice program .What is that?and in bench test do we need to carry our own instruments. BU will send confirmation of receipt of all materials via email only. Infact, all their communications will be exclusively through Email.
U penn will send out confirmation via letter in post mail. They will also tick mark certain pending documents if they haven't recvd them ( most of the time it will be NBDE official score, TOEfl sore etc.)

Hey mates!! i wanted to ask whether its possible to make ece agency send ece directly to caapid agency ??? i mean can i put in caapid's address there on "additional address" on the ece website so that caapid directly recieves a copy of it?? coz i am really short of time right now.. and if this is possible i might save few days.... the problem i think in this procedure is , if i make them do directly then how would i send the transcript form... can anyone shed some light on it.. that too quickly if possible...

Yes, you can order ECE to send your evaluation to CAAPID directly.
Have you already send your other supplemental documents to the school already? If not, then I would advise you to call the ECE report at your home and put everything in one packet and then probably send it in 'Express/overnight" delivery if you are running out of time. (Because it will take the same time for the evaluation report to reach any address in US and to CAAPID).All the respective matching forms need to be attached with a pin to the originals externally. e.g. if you have a LOR that is sealed then just attach the matching form to its envelope form the outside.

Thanks for the info mate!!! but Actually i am in india right now..and the permanent address i am giving is of india... so if i order ece first at home..its gonna take 15 -30 days for me to recieve it..and then if i send it back..its gona take few extra days... what you are saying that i should let it come at home..and then mail the whole packet along with everything via overnight courier??? did i interpret right?? 🙂 am confused..
Yes, if you are outside the US it will usually take a long time for you to recv the ECE reports at home. You interpreted my statement of sending everything together rightly. If you are willing to shell out some extra bucks, then ECE has an option of speeding up your application for a certain amount. If you are really eyeing a school deadline, then just send them what you have and order ECE to send a copy directly to CAAPID.
I can not generalize- but usually schools would be a little lenient about them not receiving one document by the deadline rather than not recing anything. Some schools will be extremely strict in this aspect. Good lluck for your application !

I spoke to CAPID today in reference to ECE evaluation and was pretty surprized to hear that they dont accept ECE older than a year 🙁( Does that mean, we have to go through the expensive evaluation process each year ?? what is gonna change with your degree in a year anyways ??? just sooo much commercialiazation !!

Hey Ece score report does not expire for abt 10 years I guess.it probably should be a recent copy request but u don't have to redo it.I sent an official copy of the report done earlier and my status was updated.

ECE report doesn't have expiration date, unless they change the evaluation process so that would change your score.👍

Guyz will caapid send paper lors electronically to various programs is it?do shed some light on this plzzz.thanks in advance.
I asked them by E-mail but haven't got any reply! You can see under application status ''Mailing date'' of your CAAPID application. Even after that mailing date it wasn't received by Lomalinda so I guess after scanning and printout they are sending it by postal mail!! If any one knows pls reply. I got to know they process our application on every Thursday.
