I have an appointment tomorrow at a cafe for local clinic scribe volunteer position. I have never interviewed at a cafe before.

How should I dress?
How would I know who the interviewer is? Should I wait at the door or just sit at an empty table?
Am I expected to order a drink or food? If something is ordered, who pays?

Someone help me lol

Polo shirt or sweater should be sufficient

Do you have a contact #? If so, use it.

As for food, you must get a muffin. Blueberry lowfat is almost a requirement. Anything else and you can kiss your premed dreams goodbye

do business casual, order a cup of coffee/drink. DOn't order food.

You probably could've asked this question in the other thread you started about the interview lol.

So something similar to this http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--1S5RkUJb--/191dedl4d8kj8jpg.jpg ?

Do we pay for our own drinks or does one pay for the other?

outfit looks good. Once you meet the interviewer, you can offer to buy their drink and act base on how they respond.

Oh thanks for the advice. I'll order something basic like a green iced tea and ask if the interviewer would want anything. Man this is going to be brutal and awkward. Doesn't help I've never been to a cafe before and this is my second interview ever. lol.

It's actually nice, cause hwen you don't know how to answer, you can take a sip and use that time to think about your response! Good luck tomorrow

wait...what???? hahaha I would NOT offer to buy something! Creeper status. If he/she has nothing in front of them, I'd ask if they'd like to get something as I'm going to order, not in anyway insinuating I'd pay. Eugh that's weird. Maybe you'd end up getting in line together and chatting. Or you'd order and then go sit down.

Why are you getting interviewed to be a scribe? Is that a thing? Overdone IMO.

usually when you meet at a coffee shop, you meet first, then you stand in line to buy something and engage in small talk and once you get your orders, you find a seat, and your interview officially begins. So when i say offer to buy their drink, i mean he would be in front of the interviewer in line, then while he's ordering, he would ask if they wanted anything and offered to pay together. Not like you find the person and say "i'll buy yo ua coffee, lets get in line."

that's so weird, I would expect this older person to maybe offer to pay, and you of course refuse, but you as a younger person offering to pay? Weird man.

Yeah I agree, it's weird to offer to buy your interviewer's drink. If anything, they would be purchasing yours (assuming they suggested meeting there).
