I'm thinking about taking both Calc 1 and General Bio over summer session. Is this too intense of a course load over the summer, or should I just take one or the other? thanks.

It doesn't sound tough at all. What else would you be taking?

That's all. I would also be volunteering/shadowing a few hours a week and, because it's summer, traveling a bit. I've just never taken science/math classes over the summer before (I'm a post-bac student. Sociology major in a previous life 😉

Ah ok. I think it would be doable. General biology isn't too much work, and I've heard summer classes are typically a little bit more laid back. Good luck!

I dunno about summer classes being more laid back, maybe in the sense that they might let things slide because not as many people are enrolled, but summer classes(where im from) are 6 weeks long, instead of the normal 12 week long quarters. So they have to jam a lot more info in a much shorter amount of time.

Yep, that's what I mean. I feel like (from what I heard, I'm sure it differs) the professors realize that you are moving quicker and are a little bit more easy-going.

Are you not going to be able to graduate in four years if you don't take either of these classes? I don't understand the need to take them unless this is the case. Sounds like you're a freshman going into sophomore year. I'd enjoy that summer as much as possible.

No, I graduated last year (B.A. in Sociology). I'm doing my dental prereqs as a post-bacc student.
