I was wondering how DO medical schools (or AACOM) calculates GPA if you retake a class. I am graduating GVSU this summer and starting Wayne State University in the fall to finish Physics for the MCAT. I took Orgo 1 at GVSU but I would like to retake the class at Wayne State to get a better grade to help out my science GPA. Since I’ll be retaking the class at another university will the course not replace the old grade even if they are equivalent courses? Thanks!

as long as the course is the same or really similiar it counts

So then, how does DO medical schools (or AACOM) calculate GPA if you retake a class? (Replace the grade or average them together?)

The most current grade replaces the old grade, regardless of whether or not you did better or worse.
