Calculator

I did my DAT just last week and my calculator or computer definitely did not like me...): It pulls up quickly but for some reason the buttons did not like to be pressed. It was nearly impossible to do 2 numbers by double clicking quickly and I found myself spending way too much time double checking that my number was input correctly. I suppose it may vary with testing computers but I would prepare myself for the worst case scenario and practice using it as little as possible.

At $400 a pop, it's pretty pathetic if the computers are so old that they can't register calculator input. Unless it is meant to be slow on purpose so people can't abuse the calculator 😀

You have to be patient with the calculator. Don't worry too much. It won't take that much more additional time to enter numbers one by one.

I think it's bogus that they can't provide us with a cheap five dollar calculator no larger than a deck of cards that does only basic things. You know, hand it out right after the break. I also think it's lame that you cannot use the keyboard to type in numbers (unless you can now). How applicable is this in the real world? Unless I am asked by a patient what the degree of the sun was at a certain hour when he was on his boat 1000 m out from shore at 10 am. Then I guess it's applicable.

agree with you 100 percent here...knowing ada they probably want people to have a harder time on QR....

Mine was a little laggy as well. I couldn't double click on the same number either. My testing center didn't allow me to draw grids during tutorial so I figure I should play with the calculator just to see how laggy it was !

Oh crap, I took the DAT on August 12th and I did not know there was a calculator. 😳
I wonder if I had done better had i known there was one.... all the calculations seemed pretty basic.

W T F are you joking?

To those of who recently took the DAT (within the past month), was the QR calculator laggy or was it working fine?

another thing that's wierd about the calculator is that when you do caculations with decimals you have to click 0 then click . then click the number after the .

for example if you're doing 5/.2 you have to click 5 --> / ---> 0 --> . ---> 2

I would always forget to click 0 and directly hit the . button and it will mess up your calculation. and during a time constraint this will piss you off a lot ( try to avoid that lol)
