I took Calculus 3 as a freshman in college and I got an A in the class. I took AP Calculus BC in high school and I got A's in both first and second semesters so my college let me take Calculus 3 without asking for AP exam score.

Now I'm worried that medical schools might tell me I didn't meet the math requirement because I took Calculus 3 in college without taking Calculus 1 and 2 in college or taking the AP exam... what should I do now? It's too late to take Calculus 1 and 2... wait that's stupid lol

Has anyone been in this kind of situation? I've sent an e-mail to one medical school and I'm receiving no response lol.

I don't think the medical schools care which math classes you take, as long as they are calculus/statistics. Why don't you call all the specific medical schools you want to apply to and ask them???...then take a statistics class or Calculus 4 so that you have 6 hours of mathematics on your record
.

Send the question to the AAMC instead. They'll answer promptly. I'm sure its not an issue.

If you have to, you could do what one of my friends did and take PreCalc Algebra or a similar-level math course after taking Calc III. Then you could say that you have a year of college math (never mind the disparity between the two courses 😉 ).

Thank you guys for the kind replies.
I will call AAMC to verify this tomorrow :luck:

I would only go to the class on the first day and the day of final exam and still get an A hopefully

Beware that some schools don't take Pre-cal, you might want to take another class (higher level than pre-cal).

See if you can take an exam for Cal 1 and Cal 2 in order to get credit for them...some colleges offer that option.

I also passed out of both Calc 1 and 2 bc of AP exams.

I started in Calc 3 and continued on to Calc 4 and some other advanced math classes.

I have already received 2 acceptances. No problems with skipping Calc 1 and 2.

Exactly, but this guy didn't take the AP exams, and hasn't taken any other math classes, thereby all the advice.

My undergrad university did not indicate that I took Calc 1 and 2 on my transcript. It only shows "AP Credit - Mathematics"
