I believe it's actually a worthwhile topic since OMFS are one of the few operator/anesthetist models anywhere in healthcare and top that with what some believe is controversial training (whether you feel it's adequate or not)

But I think because there is so much MONEY,Emotion and Ego involved that it's difficult to have a productive discussion

Personally I feel the use of anesthesia in dentistry could benefit from some reform and perhaps more importantly policy enforcement, but I'm not naive enough to believe that major change could come about quickly or without some sort of profound event

This particular thread has definitely run its course, however, and hopefully will fall to the archives

It started off with a good discussion, but it peaked a couple pages ago. Rocurworld posted the only valuable thing on the last page by emphasizing that it was the gauze in the airway (I assume a throatpack of some variety) that was the issue.
