California licensure question

Quick question regarding applying for a licence in CA:

I graduate Rx school (in Virginia) in May. I currently hold a VA intern licence.
Am I also required to apply for a CA intern licence prior to my application for pharmacist licensure in CA??

I have been told this information by a classmate but I don't see anywhere in the pharmacist licence application for CA that you must hold a CA intern licence before applying to become a pharmacist.

No, you don't need to have an intern license in Cali prior to applying for the pharmacist license. It only helps if you're working/found a job and actively waiting to take the exam or receive the pharmacist license.
