Call from school pre-II?!

Just received a call from a school pre-II to address something on my app that wasnt IA or criminal related. @Goro @LizzyM @gyngyn

Under what circumstances would you guys call an applicant like this? I am really not sure what to make of the conversation and gave an honest answer. I am not comfortable sharing the complete details of the call.

If the committee is considering an interview but for one unanswered or confusing point.

@gyngyn The call was about a discrepancy so it would make sense. I gave them the best answer i could despite being nervous so I will see in the next few days hopefully. Just scary to think it could be the difference between an II or not.

We get so many aps that unanswered questions often remain just that.

Strange... I've never heard of something like this. Having an answer regarding a discrepancy before making an interview invitation is better than not making an interview invitation because of a discrepancy.

My school doesn't pre-screen, so I can only surmise that something is missing.

I think that means the school is actually interested in you, and that you're one step away from II as soon as they clarify this? Also sounds new to me

I think you're talking about Keck? I've heard they actually do this a lot! In fact I received a call asking for a clarification and was given an II 30 minutes later! I think it just means they're carefully reviewing your app and like what gyngyn said above, are considering you for an interview!

@Dr_Yankee Yes it was keck haha, they havent sent anything since the call so I am hoping they send something out in the next few days. I feel like i gave an honest answer
